Mac OS X instructions for joining EUD wireless network
Please note that one must be running OS X 10.3 ("Panther") or higher in
order to use our 802.1X wireless networking authentication.
Setup
You must have already completed this step.
You must have already completed this step.
Connecting to the network for the first time
- Make sure that your Airport interface is turned on (in Airport menu).
- Open "Internet Connect" (in /Applications) or from Airport menu.
- Select the 802.1X icon at the top of the window (if not already
selected).
- Click on Connect button.
- The first time you do this, you will be presented with a "sheet"
(OS X drop-down window) in Internet Connect that shows you
two certificates: "EUD Web&RADIUS Server" and "EUD System Root CA".
These represent the certificates of our Certification Authority (CA)
that issued your certificate and the certificate for the RADIUS server
which authenticates your login request each time. Feel free to
scroll through and inspect them.
Click "Accept All" to add them to your Keychain.
- Next a separate window will appear titled
"Confirm Access to Keychain". It says "eapolclient wants permission to
sign using key 'private key' in your keychain. Do you want to allow this?"
Click on "Allow always" to avoid being annoyed by this question in the future.
- The status window should change within a few seconds to "Connected via
TLS" with a running clock on the line below it.
- You should now be connected to the network, and can run normal network
applications, within the limits defined by
EUD Wireless rules.
