Mac OS X instructions for joining EUD wireless network
Please note that one must be running OS X 10.3 ("Panther") or higher in
order to use our 802.1X wireless networking authentication.
Setup
Keychain Access
We need to import several certificates: In this step we will import the one
just created for you. (The others will occur the first time you connect.)
- Please note: You may be able to import your own certificate by simply clicking
on the attachment in the email you received, which will start Keychain Access automatically.
- Start the Keychain Access application (/Applications/Utilities
folder)
- You just received a copy of your own certificate as an email
attachment. Please save this attachment into a file, if your mail
program has not already done this for you.
- Select "Import..." from the File menu again.
Use the standard File dialog box that appears to select your
certificate (from your Attachments folder or wherever else you
stored it).
- When prompted, "sign" your certificate by typing the private
passphrase you used when you created the Certificate Signing Request
(CSR) on the wireless access web form.
- Two new entries should appear in your Keychain: one with a name of '<Your Name>' and a 'Kind' of
'Certificate' and one with a hexadecimal name and a Kind of 'private key'.
Setting up Network System
Preference and Internet Connect
A few final actions related to certificates happen the first time you access
the wireless network.
