The basic precept of the solar-stellar connection states that
The structures we see on active stars are scaled-up versions of
solar magnetic structures.
So how do we go from here back to the T Tauri stars?

The T Tauri stars are now thought to have:
- Large scale magnetic fields holding off the accretion disk, and
- Magnetically-channeled high latitude accretion,
both of which imply magnetic structures unlike present-day solar magnetic
structures.
