XRS-2 PhotosLaunch preparations →The M Launch Area

The rocket, attached to its fully saturated launcher, towers on the left side of the flat launch area, as the foliage-draped land drops away behind to the sea. (120K JPEG)

Here's a photo by Scott Porter, of the entire launch area, showing the launcher partially out during the launch rehearsal, the M assembly building, and the tracks between them. The horizontal rocket in the background is the sample rocket apparently required by law at all launch sites.

This photo also demonstrates both how beautiful the area is and how much haze you can cut through with a really good lens and raw mode photos.
