XRS-2 PhotosLaunch preparations →Astro-E2 Nose Fairing

The white cylindrical nose fairing, conical at the top, has three circular holes and two rectangular ones visible. (37K JPEG)

The metal slings have been removed, leaving just the actual fairing. There are still some holes for access to various parts. For instance, the XRS liquid helium tank will be topped off with superfluid helium the night before launch. Then the rocket techs will come and place a cover over the hole.
